Committee 21 Update:

Important Meetings Scheduled

July 14, 2008

Last week, the Wellesley School Building Committee and School Committee approved a revised High School Project:  A 280,000 sq ft all-new construction facility (revised from the 313,000 sq ft facility called "the HUB").  The specific layout of the revised project is still in progress.

This week, progress continues as School Committee reviews how to best accommodate the Educational Program in the revised square footage.  Additionally, the SBC has scheduled a meeting to discuss new information on the revised project, likely from continued discussions with MSBA.

The meetings this week are as follows:

TONIGHT - Mon, July 14 at 8:00 pm
Wellesley Police Station
The WPS Administration will make initial recommendations to School Committee about how and where to reduce the square footage in the new facility.

Tue, July 15 at 7:30 pm
Town Hall, Great Hall
School Building Committee will review the project status and new developments and likely vote on this new information.

Wed, July 16 at 7:00 pm
Town Hall, Juliani Room
School Committee will vote on where the revised overall square footage will be allocated in the new high school building.

The pace of progress has been very encouraging and it is important that residents keep abreast of the decisions being made this summer.
